Welcome to the Cimarron Fire Station Project
Rooted in more than a century of volunteer service, Cimarron Fire & Rescue is taking the next step toward a safer, stronger future. This project represents more than a building; it’s an investment in readiness, safety, and the people who serve our community every day.
The new fire station will provide the dedicated space needed for training, response, and equipment, ensuring that Cimarron’s volunteers have the tools and facilities to protect residents effectively and safely. This effort reflects the best of our community: practical, forward-looking, and built on shared commitment to public service.
The Project
Building a Station, Strengthening a Community
Cimarron’s fire department has always relied on commitment and creativity to serve its community. Now, that same determination is fueling the construction of a modern fire station designed to strengthen readiness and support the next generation of volunteers.
Securing the funding will require a coordinated, multi-phase effort. The project is estimated at $800,000, and the city and volunteer department are working with Funding Navigator to organize grant applications, community outreach, and donor engagement.
Local participation is essential. Community members can help by providing letters of support, joining volunteer committees, or assisting with outreach efforts. Each contribution—administrative or financial—directly supports Cimarron’s ability to compete for major state and federal grants and move the project forward.
The Community
Working Together to Build Cimarron’s Future
Cimarron is a rural Kansas community of about 2,000 residents, known for its strong volunteer spirit and long tradition of local service. For more than a century, the city’s fire department has answered calls across city and county lines without a dedicated facility.
As plans for the town’s first fire station move forward, community participation will be essential. Support can include: Submitting letters of support to strengthen grant applications. Joining a local committee to assist with outreach or planning. Providing in-kind materials, services, or donations to reduce project costs.
Every show of support helps Cimarron compete for major public and private funding, and brings the project closer to reality.
