In a blog/newsroom article, you can tell a story about what it means to your agency to win this grant and the impact this will have on the community you serve.

  • Headline: consider a headline that focuses on the problem this grant helps you solve
  • Body: the best articles tell a story about the positive impact that the grant will help you have on the community. You can provide background on why the funding was needed and how you got it. Consider including a quote from someone in your agency, a partner, or member from the community.

EXAMPLE: St. Joe’s Police Department Receives $XXX in Grant Funding to Combat Impaired Drivers

In 2024, nearly XXX people were killed in DUI crashes in our state, with XX in our county. This grant funding goes to more patrols, improved public awareness, and training for officers to be able to stop impaired drivers. “The funding will save lives in our town,” said John Tribune. “We’re grateful to this funding to help us protect lives and prevent tragedies from happening.”

The funding will go towards drug identification programs to help officers identify and understand different types of drug impairment and will also go to community awareness, presentations, and education events.

The initiative to combat impaired drivers was made possible with support by Funding Navigator, a grant application management solution that simplifies the grant application process, helping public safety agencies nationwide to find, apply for, and win grants.
